At the Meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS, held in Washington, D.C., on September 30, 2024, the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Igli Hasani, highlighted Albania’s role and contributions to the Coalition and reaffirmed that Albania will continue to be a committed partner in supporting its mission to combat ISIS.

“Albania remains dedicated to actively contributing to the fight against ISIS and promoting open, interfaith harmony within societies,” he emphasized.

In the Joint Declaration adopted at the Meeting, which marked the 10th anniversary of the Coalition, partners were urged to repatriate their citizens currently in the Al-Hol and Roj camps, as well as to continue supporting Iraqi security forces through sustained contributions to the NATO Mission in Iraq (NMI).
